Captain Calvin Duvalles
Captain Calvin Duvalle grew up fishing shrimping, crabbing, and hunting in Southeast Louisiana with his father Big Cal. His younger years were spent going to school, playing sports, and spending the rest of this time in the woods or on the water. If you bring him into the city he cannot find is way around but put him in the woods or on the water and he is never lost. His loving wife, Kim is not able to understand how that is and thankfully she knows her way in the city.
Growing up Capt. Calvin’s family had camps in Empire, Port Sulphur, Lafitte, and on Lake Pontchartrain. He was 12 when he got his first boat. He would take it out by himself and caught hundreds if not thousands of fish in it. Captain Calvin’s love for fishing grew the more he learned that different techniques that he learned helped to improve his odds of catching fish.
For the last 25 years, he has been fishing the waters of Delacroix, Hopedale, Shell Beach and East Point La Hache. The past 5 years Captain Cal has been guiding fulltime in these areas. These waters are some of the most beautiful and fish rich, inshore waters in the world. But to be successful day in and day out, you must do your homework.
Captain Cal is fanatical about his craft and puts in many hours behind the scenes to make sure his clients are successful and have a great time. He is fun loving and always looking to joke around. He also fishes professionally in some of the major professional redfish tours: the IFA, Power-Pole, American Redfish cup to name a few.
His favorite quote is “It’s not about the fishing, it’s about the memories” and there is no place better to make memories than on the water with family and friends. He thinks of all his clients as friends and some over the years have become like family.
